The Task Force addressed the problem of drivers illegally passing school buses by designing and erecting signs that state "You Cannot Afford To Pass This In Cumberland County". Posters and palm cards were also designed to accompany the signs. Billboards with this message were posted throughout the county at the beginning of several school years.

Also, when school bus drivers obtain the registration number of vehicles that illegally passes their bus, they can submit that registration number to the Traffic Safety Coordinator, who sends a formal letter to the registered owner. This letter advises the owner that passing a school bus with its red lights flashing is a violation of the law.
Our school bus committee indicated that children who ride school buses were not buckling up. This prompted the safety program to create a safety video entilted "It's not a game buckle up when you ride on a school bus."
